About RLH Architectural Design Solutions

Company History

RLH Architectural Design Solutions was established in April 2007 in Pembrokeshire and became a limited company in December 2009 with Rob Howell, Matt Goddard and Fiona Howell becoming Partners.

Rob Howell Director

With over 16 years experience in the architectural sector, backed by professional qualifications,
Rob’s career has varied from working in small professional architectural practices to heading up a design team in the Property & Development Section of the Safeway supermarket chain at their Head Office, previously located in Middlesex. Past projects vary from commercial developments including Safeway supermarkets, Littlewoods stores, Wetherspoon pubs, through to domestic conversions, extensions, new build houses and both private and affordable housing developments. Experienced in the use of both AutoCAD and ArchiCAD, Rob has advanced the use of 3D modelling greatly, applying it to all projects regardless of size and scale. This is advantageous to clients, planners and consultants alike.

Matt Goddard Director

Matt has over 17 years experience working in architecture and the built environment throughout
Pembrokeshire, achieving professional qualifications along the way. He has gained experience working on a variety of commercial projects. Clients include Pembrokeshire Derwen NHS Trust, Pembrokeshire College, Pembrokeshire County Council and BAE Systems among others. Along with the commercial there have been a variety of domestic and private projects, including work to listed buildings, extensions, barn conversions and new build projects. Previously to joining RLH as a Partner, Matt spent four years heading a project team to design and install a multi million pound industrial plant with a local family run business. Matt has a great knowledge of 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) electronic modelling, and leads the way with
RLH’s development having worked with Autodesk Revit, and ArchiCAD.

Fiona Howell Company Secretary

Fiona is our Office Manager dealing with the day to day running of the business, as well as assisting on a technical level with survey work, conducting research plus the monitoring and issuing statutory applications.
Having initially joined the company on an admin level, she has taken the opportunity to gain a great understanding of the private architectural sector, which has enabled her to become the most multi-skilled and adaptive member of the team.

Nick Cox Director (Quantity Surveyor & BREEAM Code Assessor)

Nick recently joined the RLH team as our in-house Code for Sustainable Homes Assessor. With a code level 3 rating now a mandatory requirement of all new built dwellings (see dedicated Code page), his role has become ever more pivotal to the total design solution that RLH strive to deliver. Nick's background as a Quantity Surveyor with over 20 years experience in the construction industry has lead him to have a holistic understanding of the building process which is backed by his experience and the investment made in the bespoke estimating software used. Before relocating with his family to Pembrokeshire 3 years ago, Nick
worked for Beechcroft Developments, a house builder who specialise in delivering high specification and sustainable homes to the over 55's market. The following 2 1/2 years have been spent gaining a valuable
insight into the construction industry in Pembrokeshire working as a Quantity Surveyor for local and well respected contractor.
